Legacy Destined for Purpose

Rose Chika Abiola Dike was born April 7, 1954 in Jengre Jos Nigeria. She was the third of eight children: Dr. Sonny Dike, Evelyn C. Nwaomah, Dorothy Mama Owei (late), Dr. Daniel Dike, Cecilia Dimkpa (late), Edna Uguzo, Kechiyere Elekwa.

She saw a sovereign God at work, graciously taking up into His purpose for her. From an early age, Rose was determined to be a nurse. The profession she embraced well watched her parents: Rebecca Nwoka Dike and Johnson Smart Dike commit their life in servicing others. Healthcare delivery was their calling. The Dikes’ fulfilled this both in mission field and private practice.

As children, the journey was full of memories and shared joys that continued to be purposeful. From childhood she had a song that was her guide: “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness”, She made God the center of her life. This decision opened doors and full assurance that God is working for her. The Bible says of God..

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV). When we focus on God, peace follows.

The life and legacy of Rose Chika Abiola Dike is featured in time spent in prayer for others, nurturing, touching, listen, teaching, investing and loving. Her relationship with Jesus was real. The most reassuring truths about God’s promise: is the fact that He never left her alone, never (Hebrews 13:5). As we reflect on her accomplishments, remember that her achievement was raising seven of her siblings’ children ❤️ .

In 1959-1965 Rose attended Baptist Day Primary School Ikire in Old Oyo State now Osun State. Completed her School Certificate Secondary in 1976 from Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls School Elelenwo River State Nigeria. Recalling her childhood dream, September 1, 1981 she earned her registered nursing from School of Nursing Port-Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria.

In March, 1985 completed her Certificate of Nursing in Midwifery. Her emphasis was surgery. In 1990 she earned her Diploma in Theory and Practice of Peri-Operative Nursing from University Teaching Hospital Enugu Nigeria.

Rose Dike’s awards and distinguished career in nursing began in November 14, 1977 and she eventually reached her goal in nursing services. Her retirement as a leader in nursing was confirmed on November 14, 2012.

At some point, trusting God becomes a step of faith. You will have to make the choice to trust Him for yourself. She did. Her point of focus became a reality with her trip to Israel in December 2012.

Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter the nation that keeps faith. Isaiah 26:2-4. Trust in the Lord, is the Rock eternal.

On January 22, 2017 Rose Chika Abiola Dike lost the battle to complications associate with Fibroids.

This is a big lost for the family; she was the bedrock. She took several steps for us, most important is becoming a mother to seven of our late sisters’ children as secured in her obedience to God. In Isaiah 1:19 it states

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
