As we begin 2026, we pause to honor a remarkable life that touched countless hearts. Dr. Sonny Dike (July 5, 1950 – September 27, 2025) was more than a mentor and supporter to the Rose Chika Abiola Dike Foundation—he was a beacon of hope, a champion of women’s health, and a testament to a life lived in service to others.
Dr. Dike embodied peace and selflessness. As a medical professional, his passion for improving healthcare knew no bounds, spanning from the United States to Nigeria. His commitment to women’s health, in particular, aligned deeply with our foundation’s mission and continues to inspire our work today. Even in retirement, his dedication remained so profound that the clinic where he served valued his presence and retained him, a testament to his irreplaceable expertise and compassionate spirit.
At 75, Dr. Dike left behind a legacy that transcends his years—a legacy of healing, compassion, and unwavering dedication to human dignity. We are grateful to God for his well-spent life and for the privilege of knowing him. His impact on women’s health and wellbeing will continue to resonate through our foundation’s work for generations to come.
Rest in eternal peace, Dr. Sonny Dike. Your light continues to guide us.
